About BISTO

The Bangladesh Integrated Space–Time Observatory, an open, transparent geospatial monitoring platform for the environment of Bangladesh.

Project Overview

The Bangladesh Integrated Space-Time Observatory (BISTO) is a free platform that brings together satellite imagery and humanitarian data for Bangladesh. It combines remote sensing products, from 30-meter Landsat forest change to 10-meter Sentinel-2 land cover, with curated datasets on climate, disasters, food security, health, and population, all in one interactive map.

BISTO is built for researchers, policy analysts, and forest managers who need a clear view of environmental change across Bangladesh, from division down to union level.

Unified Theme Taxonomy

All content types, Datasets, Maps, Indicators, News, and Research, are organised under a shared 11-theme taxonomy drawn from standard humanitarian and development sector categories.
